羅勃懷斯 (Robert Wise，1914–2005)：美國著名導演及製作人。1933年加入影圈當剪接，六年後晉升導演。1958年執導《我要活下去》被提名最佳導演。與Jerome Robbins聯合執導《西城故事》，贏得十一項奧斯卡獎項，其中包括「最佳影片」與「最佳導演」，掀起好萊塢的歌舞片熱潮。4年後，《真善美》(The Sound of Music)再次贏得奧斯卡最佳影片獎、最佳導演獎等5項大獎。他也是出色的剪接師，作品包括為人熟知的《大國民》(Citizen Kane，1941)，此片提名奧斯卡最佳剪接獎。
羅勃懷斯和一流外籍電影工作人，在台灣拍攝《聖保羅砲艇》，讓台灣電影界了解好萊塢大製片的模式及專業制度，讓台灣影人獲得保貴的體驗，無形中提升了台灣電影的製作水準。
