《龍虎山決鬥》劇情敘述1881 年Wyatt Earp和Doc Holliday與Ike Clanton 及其兄弟在 O.K 牧場的槍戰。約翰司圖加 (John Sturges)曾執導同一事件的虛構版龍爭虎鬪 (Gunfight at the O.K. Corral)。《龍虎山决鬥》基於Douglas D. Martin 的非小說類{Tombstone's Epitaph}，比大多數這事件的電影描述更具有歷史準確性。《龍虎山决鬥》中，Ike Clanton在 O.K. 牧場的槍戰中倖存下來。之前的電影則是在槍戰中喪生。
